The mission of Soul Spring Retreat embraces the thought of a renewed calling for feminine energy. Two wise women and formidable authors understand the challenge and solution to this calling:
“When things in the world are troubling, our need is not to join in the chaos, but to cleave to the peace within.
The only way to gain power in a world that is moving too fast is to learn to slow down. And the only way to spread one’s influence wide is to learn to go deep. The world we want for ourselves and our children will not emerge from electronic speed but rather from a spiritual stillness that takes root in our souls. Then, and only then, will we create a world that reflects the heart instead of shattering it.”
Marianne Williamson The Gift of Change
“When you attend to the needs of the soul, you experience a sense of freedom. In the midst of absorption in a soul-nourishing activity, we are liberated, creative, unaware of time, and in harmony with ourselves. When we attend only to work and neglect the soul, we may dream of being imprisoned and we are often tense, because we carry the weight of a joyless world on our shoulders. Soul-satisfying experiences open us to respond to the beauty around us, in others and in the world.”
Jean Shinoda Bolen, M.D.
from Handbook for the Soul
And so … Soul Spring Retreat was created for women ages 21 to 80+ to
participate in creative and spiritual activities to promote the
truth and power of feminine energy, to practice reverence for self
and others, and to reclaim a woman’s value in the home, workplace
and community.
The Retreat Experience ~
Soul Spring Retreat is designed for women as a safe, supportive environment where they may nurture body, mind and spirit through shared activities. This environment encourages active practice of reverence for themselves as women and helps guide women on the path to their own spirituality. A program of group activities is offered for voluntary participation, while allowing ample time for solitary reflection. Guests enjoy nutritious, home-cooking using organic produce from Soul Spring Farm’s gardens. Space is limited to 10 guests for each retreat.
A typical retreat begins at 9:00 am with meeting and greeting the group during a light breakfast, opening circle with setting of intention, overview of the grounds and program agenda, and review of safety rules and regulations. A typical program agenda includes a morning spiritual activity, followed by free time, a seated luncheon and brief rest. The afternoon includes arts & crafts or exercise activity, followed by a second spiritual activity.
A closing sacred fire circle is followed by light snacks before departure at 6:00pm.

Special Programs ~
—Retreats can be structured for private women’s groups, including Book Clubs, Discussion Groups with a Special Speaker and Support Groups. Each group establishes its own theme and intention for their private retreat session. The Soul Spring Retreat Director acts as program coordinator for the group.
—Mother/Daughter, Best Friends and “Time for Teens” are a sampling of theme-related sessions. In some instances, the age restriction of the camp is lifted to accommodate these groups. The Soul Spring Retreat Director acts as program coordinator for the group.
—A goal for Soul Spring Retreat is to be recognized as a beehive of spiritual activity for women in Middle Tennessee and beyond, drawing nationally known authors as guest speakers for special retreats.
—A scholarship fund has been established for deserving women who are unable to attend a retreat due to financial or situational constraints. The Scholarship Program is funded by contributions from women who voluntarily add $25 or more to the regular retreat fee. Because communal interaction for women from different socioeconomic backgrounds can add depth to a woman’s retreat experience, scholarship funds are available to female clients of qualified nonprofit agencies. Women with personal financial needs also qualify.
Reminder ~ The number of guests for each retreat is limited to 10 women.
